2026 IIMC Region III Annual Conference

On behalf of the North Carolina Association of Municipal Clerks and the North Carolina Association of County Clerks, it is my sincere pleasure to welcome you to the IIMC Region III Conference. We’re especially proud to host this year’s gathering, as it marks the first time in ten years that we’ve been able to welcome Region III to an in-person conference here in North Carolina. The North Carolina Association of Municipal Clerks (NCAMC) and the North Carolina Association of County Clerks (NCACC) are excited to host the 2026 International Institute of Municipal Clerks Region III Conference from February 17-20, 2026.  The conference will be held at the beautiful Lumina Resort in Wrightsville Beach, NC, and will provide educational sessions, networking opportunities, and lots of fellowship time for clerks from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.  

We’re delighted to host you in one of North Carolina’s beautiful coastal communities, where the ocean views and relaxed atmosphere will set the perfect stage for learning, connection, and renewal.  Whether you're here to deepen your knowledge, share experiences, or simply enjoy the company of colleagues who understand the unique and vital role we play in our communities, we hope you leave feeling inspired and reenergized.

Conference Information

February 17-20, 2026 | Wrightsville Beach, NC

Conference registration includes:

  • Conference meals, including a few light bites at the Tuesday evening meet & mingle, Wednesday breakfast and lunch, Thursday breakfast, lunch and evening banquet with entertainment, Friday breakfast.
  • 11.5 hours or 6.25 points of continuing education. (17.5 hours or 8.75 points if attending the optional Athenian Dialogue session.)

  • $500 - Register before December 1, 2025
  • $550 - Register between December 1, 2025 - January 31, 2026 
  • $600 - Register after February 1
  • $100 - Athenian Dialogue (optional conference add-on)
  • $100 - Spouse/Guest Registration before January 31, 2026
  • $125 - Spouse/Guest Registration after February 1, 2026
   

Registration Information & Instructions for Non-North Carolina Clerks

Early Bird Registration Ends November 30, 2025

  • The conference sessions and hotel room sleeping block will all be located at Lumina at Wrightsville Beach.
  • Spouses/guests are welcome to attend the Thursday evening banquet. Spouse/guest registration can be added onto the clerk registration. Guests must be registered in advance.
  • Registration must be received by February 14, 2026. Please note, we will not be able to make dietary accommodations for attendees who register after January 16, 2026.
  • Upon registration, confirmation email will be sent with the booking link to reserve a hotel room at the Lumina Wrightsville Beach. Rooms will be available at the group rate on February 17 - February 20 (check-out).

Registration for Clerks Outside of North Carolina:

    • Non-North Carolina clerks will need to create an account with a username and password. 
    • Please follow these step-by-step instructions.
    • When creating your account, you will be asked to add your municipality name. Out of state municipalities will not appear in the drop down list. Please use "IIMC Region III" as your municipality name.

Conference registration is $500 up until December 1, 2025.

This includes:

  • Tuesday night reception
  • Breakfast and Lunch on Wednesday
  • Breakfast, Lunch and evening Banquet on Thursday.
  • Breakfast on Friday.

*Please note: Name, job title, municipality name and email address of municipal clerks who register to attend the conference will be provided to all IIMC Region III sponsors.

(Please note, spouses and guests are not able to attend breakfast, lunch or educational sessions during the conference.)

Past Presidents, Honorary Members, Retired Clerks and Honorary Clerks are welcome to attend the conference by paying the standard conference fee. 

Please use the registration link on this webpage to register for the event. We do ask that you register ahead of time so we know how many to expect. 

Yes! Spouses and guests are welcome to attend the Thursday evening banquet, featuring dinner and entertainment. Guests must be registered in advance. Registration is $100 before January 16, 2026.

Spouses/Guests are not able to attend any other conference meals or the educational sessions. 

Requests for registration cancellation must be received in writing, via email, no later than January 16, 2026. Please contact events@nclm.org if you would like to cancel your registration. 

Cancellation requests made after January 16, 2026 will not be eligible for a registration refund although you may transfer your registration to another staff member within your office. 

The conference hotel has two types of rooms available. 

Rooms on the ocean-facing side are $164 plus applicable taxes per night. 

Rooms on the street-facing side are $144 plus applicable taxes per night. 

Most attendees will want to check in on Tuesday, February 17 and check out Friday, February 20 for a total of three nights at the hotel. 

It is recommended to budget a total of $575 for lodging.

Please note: When making a reservation through the conference room block, the reservation page and your reservation confirmation email will include a $30 per night "resort fee". However, this fee has been waived for this conference. Although the fee appears on the reservation page and your confirmation email, it will not be charged to you if you book within the conference room block. 

Once you are registered to attend the conference, you will receive a confirmation email. This confirmation email will include a booking link to book your room directly with Lumina at Wrightsville Beach.

Provided you book within the conference room block, you may cancel your hotel reservation without penalty up to 72 hours prior to your scheduled arrival date. You must contact the hotel directly in order to cancel your room reservation. 

Please note, booking outside of the room block, or using third-party booking websites, may mean you will not receive some benefits negotiated by NCAMC. Please use caution when booking with third-party websites.

If you are contacted by someone other than Lumina at Wrightsville Beach, NCAMC or NCLM regarding room booking, please contact events@nclm.org.

  • Wednesday, February 17 is anticipated to be 6 credit hours.
  • Thursday, February 18 is anticipated to be 3.5 credit hours.
  • Friday, February 19 is anticipated to be 2 credit hours. 

This is a total of 11.5 hours or 5.75 points.

The optional Athenian Dialogue on Tuesday, February 16 will provide an additional three points toward CMC or MMC certifications.

The hotel offers shuttle service to Wrightsville Beach businesses within a four-mile radius of the hotel. 

The closest airport to Wrightsville Beach is Wilmington International Airport (ILM). This airport is served by American Airlines, Breeze, JetBlue, United, Avelo, Delta and Sun Country Airlines. ILM is about 11 miles from the Lumina on Wrightsville Beach Hotel. A taxi or rideshare is usually $20-$25 + tip each way.

The evening will include a buffet dinner, music and dancing. Attendees are encouraged to dress in business attire or semi-formal attire.

About the Book

Beginning with her humble origins on the North Philadelphia basketball court and her rise to national fame at the University of Virginia—where she led her team to three Final Fours—Staley recounts the key moments that shaped her winning mindset.

  • The session will run from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at the Lumina Wrightsville Beach. 
  • The dialogue will provide three points towards CMC or MMC certifications. 
  • Attendees will be on their own for lunch. 
  • All attendees should read the book prior to arriving at the conference. 
  • This is an optional add-on event and is limited to the first 30 attendees to register. 
  • Cost: $100

Sponsorship FAQs

Attendees are municipal and county clerks from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks Region III. Region III is comprised of clerks from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. We anticipate attendance to be around 180 people. 

The conference is hosted by a different state association each year. The North Carolina Association of Municipal Clerks is thrilled to be the host organization in 2026!

Sponsorships and additional attendee fees are not refundable.  

The hotel requires cancellation 72 hours prior to check-in in order to receive a full refund. You must contact the hotel directly if you need to cancel your room. 

Reservations within the conference room block are on a first-come, first-served basis. The room block will close on January 16, 2026. 

Attendees are encouraged to visit the sponsors during the conference breaks on Wednesday and Thursday. We also have a sponsor reception scheduled on Wednesday afternoon once the conference concludes for the day. 

Sponsors will be able to set up their exhibit tables between 6:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18. The first conference break is 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday and attendees will have time to visit with sponsors. 

Sponsors can arrive on Tuesday evening to check into the hotel, join the attendees for an informal meet & greet on Tuesday evening and attend breakfast on Wednesday morning. 

Sponsors will be able to breakdown after 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 19. We hope sponsors will join us at the conference banquet that evening. 

Hotel parking is complimentary for registered guests of the Lumina at Wrightsville Beach. If you are not staying at the hotel, parking is available for $15 per day.
