2022 Clerk of the Year Award: Now Accepting Nominations
Due June 3, 2022
The North Carolina Association of Municipal Clerks is accepting nominations for the Clerk of the Year award, an annual award presented to an outstanding North Carolina Clerk or Deputy Clerk at the NCAMC Summer Academy in August. The award was given for the first time in 2011.
To be eligible for the award, the individual must meet certain criteria as follows:
- Active member of the NCAMC for at least four years
- Brings innovative ideas to the Association
- Active in municipal, state and national associations
- Demonstrates commitment to professional development
- Demonstrates commitment to community involvement
- Extraordinary individual job performance
- Positive on-the-job attitude
A completed nomination form should address the above criteria. You need not be a clerk to submit a nomination. Nominations are encouraged by and will be accepted from mayors, supervisors, managers, council members, board members, staff, etc.

Eligibility
Prior recipients and clerks currently serving as officers of the Association are not eligible.
Prior recipients of the award include: Angela G. Stadler, Reidsville (2011), Sue Rowland, Cary (2012), Jenny Larson, Fairmont (2013), Dora Moore, Rural Hall (2014), Carmen K. Miracle, Jacksonville (2015), Betsey Richardson, Greensboro (2016), Sylvia J. Holleman, Wrightsville Beach (2017), Joyce M. Walker, Lewisville (2018), Susan Powell (2019), Sabrena Reinhardt, Leland (2020) and Brenda Blanco, New Berm (2021).
Current officers of the Association include: Lisa Stites, Oak Island (President), Dianne Enoch, Elon (1st Vice-President), Sarah Radcliff, Ayden (2nd Vice-President), Jennifer Ayre, Fayetteville (Recording Secretary) and Melody Shuler, Waxhaw (Immediate Past President). There may be years in which there are no outstanding nominees. The decision of the selection panel is final.
