Congratulations to our 2016 NCAMC Clerk of the Year!
Greensboro City Clerk, Betsey Richardson, CMC, NCCMC
The North Carolina Association of Municipal Clerks chose City of Greensboro Clerk Betsey Richardson to be the 2016 Clerk of the Year. She accepted the award Saturday night at the association’s Summer Academy in Asheville.
City Manager Jim Westmoreland and Mayor Nancy Vaughan nominated Richardson because of her efforts to introduce new computer software systems to make the City’s legislative work more efficient and paperless. They also lauded her leadership in helping the Council revamp its committee structure.
“Betsey’s efforts saved the City time and money, and make our agenda items and other meeting documents easily accessible to the public – a critical improvement in government transparency that our residents appreciate and deserve. The new system is better for employees, elected officials and the public. It would not have been possible without Betsey,” Westmoreland said in his nomination letter. “She is a role model of governmental leadership, dedication and efficiency.”
